Although spring is an amazing season there’s something that stands in the way from making it the BEST season and that’s spring cleaning. But you no longer have to let those two words make you dread spring because I’m going to give you some awesome tips to make your spring cleaning go quick and easy this year. These are some great ways to clean everything from carpets to windows without having to spend hours and hours on it all.
Rugs and Carpets
For many spring cleaning means having to deep clean EVERYTHING but that isn’t true, for example when it comes to your rugs and carpets, you don’t need to waste your time making sure you’ve vacuumed and scrubbed every little area. To make things a lot easier on you and a lot quicker you should target important areas, things like stains that really bug you or areas that get high-traffic. Then give the rest of the carpet a quick but good once-over and viola! It’s all clean without taking up too much of your time.
Windows are the worst to clean because they’re magnets for dust, but they need to be done. To make it quick and simple you’re going to need to forget about the detail work and get straight to the point. You’ll want to focus most on the exterior which is where the most dirt builds up, it’s best to use a hose and a clean broom. Take the broom and dip it into a mixture of water and soap, scrub the window, screen, and all around to make sure no cobweb or dirt is missed then rinse with your hose (for hard to reach windows just a simple spray with the hose will work). When that’s done do a simple dusting and wipe down on the inside.
The bed is the easiest part, no need to waste your time scrubbing your mattress with cleaner and waiting for it to dry (using a soap/cleaner and water mixture on your bed can also cause mildew). So instead while your bedding is getting a wash take some baking soda and pour it into a sieve then use that to lightly dust your mattress, the baking soda will gradually draw out moisture and dirt which will eliminate odors. Be sure to put it on right away and leave it on until you’re bedding is finished in being washed and dried, once that’s done very quickly vacuum up the baking soda and make your bed.
These tips to make your spring cleaning go quick and easy are just a few of the many that are out there and are sure to make your deep cleaning go by very fast and be as simple as possible for you so you may enjoy the rest of your spring this year and all the others to come.
