When you think of cheesecake, you probably think of a larger multi-serving cake of deliciousness that must be prepared with tender loving care. Or you might think of those crappy no-bake boxed concoctions. While cheesecake is one my absolutely most favorite things in the world to make for desserts or to take to a get together, I am not always in the mood to work on a dessert for a couple of hours before it can be enjoyed. One of God’s best creations was giving man the idea to do a pre-made cheesecake filling. It can be used in so many different ways, and can substantially up your cheesecake abilities. Like being able to make these Cheesecake Shooter Desserts.
It’s been awhile since I posted a recipe on here, and I have been wanting to do this since I found these little dessert cups at World Market. I seen them and knew exactly what I wanted them for. Which doesn’t happen often, because as ya’ll have been made aware- I am not that creative! I do a few fun things every now and then when inspiration hits, but for the most part I am just not genetically pre-dispositioned for creativity. These super simple Cheesecake Shooter Desserts are perfect for your summer parties or just to surprise your littles.
When I started making these, I did three different ones. Variety is the spice of life after all.
I did an Oreo Cookie Crumble Cheesecake Shooter with just three ingredients! All you need for the deliciousness of an Oreo Cheesecake Shooter is Oreo cookies (yes, off brand is fine!), pre-made cheesecake filling, and whipped topping. Crush two Oreos for each shooter you are making. Layers should be: crushed cookies, cheesecake filling, whipped topping, and then sprinkle with crushed cookie to let everyone know what flavor it is.
For the next one I made a Turtle Cheesecake Shooter. The Turtle version uses 5 ingredients. Yeah, seems like a lot compared to the Oreo one above. But it is just as simple to put together as the others. Your layers for this one will be: crushed graham crackers (I used the ones you find in the baking aisle that are pre-crushed), cheesecake filling, 2 Rolo candies cut into fourths, chopped pecans, whipped topping, 1 Rolo cut into fourths and chopped pecans to let everyone know what kind it is. I added caramel dipping sauce to the top as an extra bonus!
For the last one, I did a more traditional Strawberry Cheesecake Shooter. This one has 4 ingredients, and layers together so very prettily. It is the perfect dessert shooter for any 4th of July parties you may be having this summer. You could easily do it with blueberries as well to create a full set of shooters in a red. white, and blue theme. Layers for the Strawberry Cheesecake Shooters are: crushed graham cracker crumbs, strawberries diced into small pieces, cheesecake filling, graham cracker crumbs, strawberries cut into small pieces, whipped topping, and add sliced strawberries to let everyone know the flavor of this one.
I dusted the tops of the Strawberry Cheesecake Shooter with graham cracker crumbs and served them to the kids. I tried the Oreo and now want to try it with chocolate chip cookies. I bet that would be yummy. You can easily change up these Cheesecake Shooter desserts and use your favorite candy, fruit, or cookie. How about white chocolate macadamia nut cookie crumble? Or Snickers?
Which one of these Cheesecake Shooters would you want to dig into?
