Recently I had to travel to the Orlando area for a possible job interview. I wanted to stay somewhere that was close enough to Orlando that I could meet up with a fellow blogger for lunch, but I also wanted to stay far enough away that I didn’t have to deal with the traffic and endless theme park happenings. So I looked outside of Orlando. Now let me tell you that Google Maps lies! It said that I was 30 miles away from Orlando. Bologna! I was actually 45 miles. Which still wasn’t horrible in my opinion. I guess growing up in an area where we had to drive an hour to get to anywhere remotely interesting does have it’s perks as an adult. Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida was gracious enough to host me while I was in town for a few days. And boy was I a happy camper.
Want to know why? Well, for starters- look at this bed! All to myself!
And it was such a comfortable bed. Surrounded by pillows. Able to stretch and lay however I wanted. There actually would have been plenty of room for Chad to share this bed with me and I could have still splayed my arms and legs out in all kinds of shapes.
I also feel in love with the little touches in the room. The sliding barn door in front of the restroom area. The quiet slide shower doors. The USB ports all over the room. The storage spaces all over the room. And the cute little sticky note on the bed.
I was able to relax and pretend to get some work accomplished during my time at Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida. The little sitting area with table was perfect for kicking my feet up, working on a post or two, and sipping coffee.
The wet bar area contained a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. I will tell you now- yes, I did make use of the coffee maker.
Breakfast is an affair of it’s own at the Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida. You don’t get that crappy bagel and stale donuts that some places like to throw out there. Nope, you get a whole coffee bar that is open 24/7. You get bacon or sausage (I had bacon one day and sausage another day). You get eggs. You get oatmeal, cereal, waffles (with an absurd amount of topping options!!!), fruit, bread products, yogurt, cold cereal, and of course juice. I really am regretting not having at least one decadently topped waffle during my time visiting.
Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida offers 96 rooms spread out over 5 floors. You will find an outdoor pool, smoking areas situated away from the main doors, and plenty of parking. For you fitness enthusiasts out there, there is a fitness center located within the hotel. It is located within minutes of Chili’s, Zaxby’s, McDonald’s, and several local restaurants serving everything from seafood to bbq. Wal-Mart is a short drive away as well for those “oops I forgot to pack this” moments.
I found myself spending a few hours in Mt. Dora while I was in the area, and was surprised that it was just a 30 minute drive away. Mt. Dora is probably my favorite place to visit. I absolutely love that place! And since Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida was so close to it, I think we might just know where we will be staying when our next urge for really yummy German food comes around. You’ll also be pleased as punch if you have a Nascar fan in with you. The Hampton Inn and Suites in Deland is a short drive to Daytona!
I was sad to check out once my stay was over, but I plan on returning to visit Hampton Inn and Suites Deland, Florida again in the future. The staff, the rooms, the location, all make it a place that I would put on my regular spots for vacation stays.
